CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS
Many of Ban's signature temporary elements are revisited with more permanent materials in his cultural institutions: wooden columns reach up to hexagonal woven-timber roofs; soaring paper tubes support ceilings; and atriums with wide, glass shutters open fully to offer views and provide natural light. One of Ban’s most acclaimed buildings, the Centre Pompidou-Metz, boasts a gracefully undulating roof supported by woven-timber hexagons.
